First Influence

I think that the biggest reason that Frederick Douglass is one of the most important people of the United States history is that he was a huge part in abolishing slavery. One of the major events that makes me think this is that he wrote an anti-slavery newspaper that spread around the country. This was called " The North Star" This started protest and rallies to abolish slavery. Frederick grew up as being a slave so he new what it was like and he spread it throughout the United States. He informed people about the cruelty of slavery and what was being done to the black people of America. He new that if the people of the United States did not learn what was being done that eventually the blacks would die off and no longer be in the United States.
